Representatives Espaillat, Nadler and Goldman Endorse Alvin Bragg for Manhattan District Attorney
Praising his work to make Manhattan safer, Representatives Adriano Espaillat, Jerry Nadler and Dan Goldman, Manhattan’s three Congressmembers, today endorsed Alvin Bragg for re-election as Manhattan District Attorney.
“During his historic tenure as District Attorney, Alvin Bragg has made our community safer and the system fairer,” said Congressman Espaillat. “He understands the needs of our community because he walks our streets, listens to us, and works with us. From taking on tenant abuse and harassment from landlords and developers to the recent ongoing investigative efforts that led to the arrest of 30 gang members responsible for violence and crimes in Inwood and Washington Heights, our communities are safer because of Alvin’s vigilance and actions to hold perpetrators accountable. I am proud to endorse Alvin Bragg to continue his work as our District attorney.”
Congressman Nadler said, “Alvin Bragg is an experienced, effective and courageous prosecutor who has made Manhattan a safer place to live, work, and go to school. He’s made substantial strides in curbing gun violence, been a leader in combatting the disturbing increase in antisemitism over the past year and worked hard to protect everyday New Yorkers from abuse by the powerful. With Alvin Bragg as DA, our city is safer and fairer, and I’m proud to endorse him re re-election.”
Congressman Dan Goldman said, “Throughout his first term as Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg has taken important steps to crack down on violent crime, including increasing prosecutions of gun violence, sex crimes and hate crimes. We have worked closely together to stop the proliferation of guns on our streets and to invest in mental health and drug diversion programs to successfully redirect our youth away from the system, give kids opportunities and keep them safe. While the overall data is improving, a feeling of disorder and insecurity remains in parts of our city. After frank conversations about cracking down on recidivism and ensuring that general deterrence becomes a larger focus of that office to prevent antisemitism and other hate crimes, I am happy to endorse him for re-election and I look forward to continuing to work closely together to improve public safety and the lives of New Yorkers."
“Manhattan is blessed to have three extraordinary representatives and leaders who exemplify the best in our country and work every day on behalf of New Yorkers,” said Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. “I am honored to have their support and look forward to continuing to work together to build on our successes in delivering the safety we need, the fairness we deserve, and justice for all. We know safety concerns are real, and we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, but our comprehensive approach is getting results.”
